VMA CODE OF CONDUCT

The VMA Code of Conduct must be followed by all volunteer musicians to ensure a safe and successful concert.

COMPLY WITH HEALTH POLICIES.

I will comply with all health policies required by the venue including any COVID-19 performance protocols and vaccination policies.

RESPECT PRIVACY.

I will respect the privacy of patients, visitors, staff, and all listeners in attendance at the performance venue.

DRESS THE PART.

I will dress in business casual or relaxed concert dress attire.

STANDS.

Some venues provide stands, and some don’t. If possible, it’s better to be on the safe side and bring a portable stand just in case, and coordinate these logistics with your ensemble.

MEDIA.

I will not take photos or videos on site without express permission from the Venue’s Administrator.

SPACE.

I will keep myself, instrument case, and personal belongings free and clear of others. Obstructing entrances, exits, and the flow of traffic is a safety hazard at any venue.

CANCELLATIONS.

If you commit to a concert that you cannot attend, please cancel as far in advance as possible. Repeated cancellations, though rare, are disruptive to the group as a whole.

SUBSTANCES.

I will not attend VMA performances if I have recently consumed drugs or alcohol.

PUNCTUALITY.

I will honor my volunteer concert commitments and show up on time for rehearsals and concerts.

COMMUNICATION.

Communication is key especially when scheduling seasonal concerts. Please respond to your fellow volunteers in a reasonable period of time.

KEEP IT CLEAN.

I will refrain from using vulgar or inappropriate language at performance venues.

RAISE YOUR HAND.

If you have any questions along the way, just ask a seasoned VMA volunteer.

GOOGLE WORKSPACE.

VMA Google Workspace privileges are exclusively for VMA-related activities.

WE ARE ONE TEAM.

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability, age, sex, religion or political belief.
